Short Description

Summer Student positions will be open at Snohomish County PUD between March and June. Keep checking back as student positions will open as they become available, and close as they are filled. Please apply for any and all student positions you are interested in and eligible for.

Job Definition

This summer student position will close when successful candidate has been identified, or by June 14, 2019.  


This summer student will support the District's New Energy Initiatives team, a relatively newly formed work group at the District with a mission to "Identify and create solutions to address the climate, renewable, and electric needs of the District and its customers amidst complex change in the electric industry."

Specifically, the summer student will be providing support in three main areas:

1. Researching electric vehicle technologies and initiatives to inform the District's strategic electric vehicle plan.
2. Providing engineering review of and completing research into DER (solar, peak demand management technologies, batteries, electric vehicles) technologies to support existing work groups and development of new customer programs.
3. Providing community solar program support, which may require interaction and communication with customers on behalf of the District.

By the end of the summer, the student hire will leave with an understanding of the complexities faced by the utility industry and resulting opportunities as the District works to evolve in a quickly-changing environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older at time of application.

• High School student or student currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or vocational program, working toward a degree or certification.


  • Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Sustainability, etc.) Students must be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year in the Fall of this year.
  • Current transcripts, progress reports, and/or student enrollment histories are required at time of applicationThis can be added to the end of your resume via copy/paste or scan. Then upload as a single document to the resume or cover letter portion of your profile
  • Proof of student status for Fall 2019 is required if selected for a position.  Acceptable documents include:  current registration/enrollment notice, or letter of intent from Registrar's office, or student enrollment history, or tuition payment confirmation.
  • Must successfully complete the pre-employment screening process, including testing for employment (if applicable).
