Position Information

Job Definition

This internship is a part of the Public Power Internship Program facilitated by Energy Northwest. The Public Power Internship Program provides students with a diverse multi-utility experience, with workshops presented by leaders at public power utilities throughout Washington state. The interns also participate in a training with the Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) and a final presentation in the Tri-Cities at the end of the summer to network with other students, supervisors, and leaders at all participating utilities. Students will leave their internship with a better understanding about Snohomish County PUD and the public power industry as a whole.

The Data & Information Governance department is responsible for data security, data lifecycle management and deploying policies through projects, continual improvement efforts and training and awareness campaigns.  They play a key role between IT and the business, supporting key system upgrades and implementations while balancing the data and information with business process changes.  The Data and Information department also develops and deploys organization wide data security campaigns and application usability trainings.  

 

Successful candidate will be assisting multiple programs with:
•    Day to day planning efforts
•    Building retention matrixes 
•    Support information migration initiative
•    Support program managers’ training and awareness campaigns

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older at time of application.
• High School student or student currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or vocational program, working toward a degree or certification.

Experience/Education

  • Current transcripts, progress reports, and/or student enrollment histories are required at time of application.
  • Proof of student status for upcoming quarter is required prior to hire.  Acceptable documents include:  current registration/enrollment notice, or letter of intent from Registrar's office, or student enrollment history, or tuition payment confirmation or cancelled check.
  • Must successfully complete the pre-employment screening process, including testing for employment (if applicable).

License/Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working towards a degree in Data Science, Data analytics, or Business Administration
  • Proficient in Microsoft O365 and similar 
  • Demonstrates qualities in time management, organization, leadership, adaptability, curiosity, organization, communication (written and oral), strong technical skills, analytical, professionalism, confidentiality, customer focused, and critical thinking.
  • Experience working on a team, preferably in an office setting
