This is a Time-Limited position for up to 2 years (24 months). 

Job Definition

Works as a member of a crew directing traffic and performing incidental and clean up duties in accordance with safety and constructions standards and regulations.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This position works no set schedule and is on-call.  This position is not eligible to take upgrades to higher classifications.  This position is not eligible for a boot allowance.

Essential Job Functions

1. Flags and performs traffic control.
2. Performs incidental restoration and clean-up duties.
3. Assists Helpers and Equipment Operators with vehicle loading, unloading and clean-up.
4. Drives District vehicles for flagging and cleanup duties.
5. Performs stenciling of poles.
6. Loads and unloads material and equipment related to flagging and cleanup duties and delivers miscellaneous items.
7. Delivers outage notifications to customers’ homes.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience/Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

License or Certification:

• Successful completion of Flagger Driving Test.
• Successful completion of Flagger Physical Abilities Test.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License, with a good driving record.
• Valid Flagging Card*
• Obtain a valid First Aid certificate within 6 months from job start date
• Obtain a valid CPR certificate within 6 months from job start date.
Note: Flagging Card is not required for the testing process, but is required on the first day of employment/job start

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to construction environment (i.e. - weather, etc.).
• Fundamentals of Electricity.
• CPR, First Aid certification.
