Job Definition

Join an evolving SAP Center of Excellence (COE) as an Applications Analyst. Seeking an experienced Applications Analyst responsible for configuration, development, and support of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with a preferred focus on Asset Management.  The successful candidate must have the ability to partner across a diverse team of architects, application developers/configurators, and functional analysts. The successful candidate will contribute to an organization-wide business transformation project and be part of the team involved in the design and implementation of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.



We are recruiting for an Applications Analyst OR a Sr Applications Analyst.

Title and salary will depend on qualificaitons.

Essential Job Functions

Analyzes, designs, codes, troubleshoots, tests, implements, modifies, and supports moderately complex computer applications.


Creates and/or analyzes detailed specifications from which programs will be written to replace or enhance existing programs.  Develops and designs programs that meet user needs, maintainability, and efficiency; performs walkthroughs.


Develops and performs system conversions of low to moderate complexity.


Researches and defines system scope and objectives; identifies a solution for issues requiring program (or system) modification.  Provides ITS management with recommendations and work requirements.


Develops and maintains information and documentation. 


Assists in the development of and follows policies, procedures, standards, and methodologies within Information Technology Services and the District. 


Applies security and quality assurance standards and best practices.


Effectively communicates with co-workers, customers, management, and external vendors.


Provides training to other ITS staff on various related topics.


Assists in cost benefit analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

Applications Analyst

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field and two (2) years progressively more responsible programming and application systems experience.


  • The equivalent combination of directly related experience and education.


Sr Applications Analyst

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field and five (5) years progressively more responsible programming and application systems experience.


  • The equivalent combination of directly related experience and education.


• Valid Washington State Driver License

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years SAP implementation and/or other ERP configuration experience
  • Experience with SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and SAP Work Manager
  • Strong functional and technical understanding and troubleshooting skills including interfaces between SAP (or other ERP software) and external applications
  • Ability to perform application design and ERP configuration based on business requirements analysis
  • Project implementation methodologies or software project lifecycle experience including requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation and support phases
  • Experience with risk and impact analysis
  • Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft technologies
  • Strong query scripting experience or table read, write, join, and SAP infoset build
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks or assignments including the ability to organize, plan, and lead tasks or initiatives of varying size to a successful completion
  • Work effectively in a collaborative team environment along with the commitment to the overall team success
  • Ability to work successfully with 3rd party vendors in incident resolution and to support application enhancements as required to meet business requirements and priorities
  • Strong written/verbal communications skills

Working Conditions

• Duties performed in an office environment and require the repetitive use of a computer, keyboard and mouse.

• Travel to District offices, training, and meetings is required.

• 24/7 pager duty may be required.
